2024 Unite Conference and AGM

The Unite Union 2024 National Delegates Conference and AGM will be held in Auckland:
  • on Tuesday 1st & Wednesday 2nd October 2024
  • at the Mount Albert War Memorial Hall, 773 New North Road, Mount Albert, Auckland.

Delegates will be attending from all over the country to participate in training workshops, discussions about the future of unionism and Unite, and to elect Unite's National Executive and officers, the leading body of the union. 


The AGM part of the conference  will be split into two parts:

  • Part One: 11am on Tuesday 1st  

    1. Apologies

    2. Minutes of Previous AGM

    3. Co-Presidents Report

    4. Secretary’s Report

    5. Financial Report

    6. Remits, including any changes to rules and election processes

     

  • Part Two: 10.30am on Wednesday 2nd 

    7. Election of Officers:  Co-president, National Secretary  (both 2 year terms)

    8. Election of Executive - at least five vacancies (2 year terms)

    10. General Business

All members are entitled to attend the AGM as an observer, but voting representatives will be delegates from their worksite. 

The Unite Exec has set the following voting representation at the AGM

  • sites with 25-50 members - 1 delegate,

  • sites with 51-99 members - 2 delegates,

  • sites with 100+ members - 2 delegates plus 1 per 50 additional members,

  • plus 68 other delegates from smaller sites,

making a total of 108 voting delegates.

As the conference is primarily training for delegates, priority for attendance at the conference will be for delegates who have not yet undertaken delegate training. If you are a delegate interested in attending please  contact us at support@unite.org.nz or through the website form here.

 The deadline for Co-President and National Secretary nominations  is 5pm on Monday 16th September and these will be notified to members by Thursday 19th September. 


The deadline for any proposed rule changes nor remits for consideration is 5pm on Monday16th September and these will also be notified to members on the 19th September. 

Nominations for Executive members will close at 10am the morning of Wednesday 2nd October.
