Examples of successful case work

One of Unite's functions is to do case work and fix employment issues at your job, and also to assist and educate members as to how to fix issues themselves. Most employment issues can be solved without entering the legal process or attending mediation.
When managers make mistakes or (on purpose) do things that are against the union contract or government legislation, the companies are often willing to fix things up when they are approached by Unite or its members. This brings overall improvements across all of the stores because managers are less likely to do the same wrong practice again after we have fixed the issue. Usually the best way to stop practices like unfair treatment or bullying is to make sure that your workplace has strong union membership.
